Who we are.....what you might like to know
My name is Tracey Hand and I am the owner of Hands Up Web Design.
In 2000, I started my own business, Budget Bumps, selling good-as-new maternity clothing on the internet and at that point, I got the internet bug!
After a successful first year, I started using Actinic Ecommerce software (now known as SellerDeck) to produce my website, way back on version 4, and have been using and working with it ever since.
Not only am I able to maximise your websites potential using this flexible software, but I also have 11 years experience in the online retail industry, so I know how an eCommerce website and business works at the back-end too, something many designers don't get any "hands on" experience with.
If you have a query about the integration and compatibility of your business idea with SellerDeck, chances are I have come across it before and will have some knowledge and recommendations of ways it can work for you.
My husband also became full time self-employed in 2005, running Jesters Trick Bits and I took over the design and maintenance of that website too, giving it a complete redesign in 2007 around the same time as we took on retail premises.
2007 also saw a redesign of Budget Bumps and, as it grew more successful, I took on office and storage premises (otherwise known as "getting my house back")
With our businesses more streamlined and efficient and our websites looking more polished, I found people approaching me to set up websites for them and so, in 2008, "Hands Up Web Design" was born.
In 2009, I sold Budget Bumps, as a profitable going concern, and am now working full time, juggling my husband's business and other web design work as well as spending 2 years doing QA and support for Mole End Ltd, a UK company who develop software to work alongside Actinic (now known as SellerDeck) and other eCommerce platforms.
More recently, Jesters has made the move from Actinic (now known as SellerDeck) to Interspire Shopping Cart and over the last few months we have gained a wealth of experience in using this new system from design and product input to order processing and catalogue maintenance.
In 2012, we opened launched a smaller, related site, using Big Commerce.
I like to think I can offer a personal and affordable service, whatever your website requirements and, with extensive internet retail experience too, can offer some additional insight into how your business can flourish and grow with a good, solid online presence.
